If non-4sq-user doesn’t give a f*ck about 4sq and all its glory, then why are they so frantic about the feeds showing in their timeline?
Ow come on, 4sq is also a game. An addicting one. It’s so addicting, coz it’s easy and fun to play. Every foursquare check-in earns you points. Find a new place in your neighborhood? +5 points. Making multiple stops in a night? +2 points. Dragging friends along with you? +1. And not to mention, those cute badges!!
And what kind of game would it be without any competition? Well, foursquare has its competition too! The competition comes in the form of mayors. Mayors are determined by the amount of time you visit a place. If you’ve been to a place more than anyone else, you will become “the mayor”, well, until someone else comes along and steals your title.
Isn’t it fun?
Well… If you still think there is no fun at all in those aforementioned, which is totally acceptable, I say, good for you. Means, you’re still one of those human who’s value and prioritize Security more than Freedom and Expression.
There’s a theory about human and its behaviours, quote: ”Humans have needs and values that can be placed in nine categories : Security, Adventure, Freedom, Exchange, Power, Expansion, Acceptance, Community, Expression”
Each person will have cognitive behaviours that represent how they prioritize these. If, for example, you value Security, way higher than you value Adventure and Community then Foursquare will not be for you.
Simple.
Oh and by the way, look at these lines of badges… aren’t they a pretty sights? *giggles*
